HCC Interior Design students earn praise, gain experience during competitive Architectural Charrette
Each year the Houston chapter of the American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Health hosts a professional seminar, exhibit and social allowing members of the architectural and healthcare communities to network and showcase trends and the future of design in health architecture. As part of the event, the AIA sponsored a Health SES Student Design Charrette & Presentation featuring students from major universities across the state of Texas.

In 2016, Tammy Foy was just one class shy of earning her Associate of Science in Business Management at HCC, but family obligations took priority. Her parents became ill, responsibilities at home mounted, and her education was placed on hold.

HCC continues to elevate its Smart Building Technology program with the recent donation of three Pan Tilt and Zoom (PTZ) cameras from J-Tech Digital, Inc. The equipment will be integrated into both commercial and residential training applications, expanding hands-on learning opportunities for students.

As a woman of Mexican descent, Tanya Roche always felt drawn to the esteemed artist Frida Kahlo, known for her self-portraits of pain, passion and vibrant colors. Roche, a 47-year-old HCC Fashion Design student, originally from Queens, New York, used to buy clothing and dress like the famous artist in different phases of her life.
