Interim Chancellor
As we enter a new academic year, we acknowledge Chancellor Cesar Maldonado, Ph.D., P.E., and thank him for his nine years of leadership at HCC, positively impacting student success and the community at large. Dr. Margaret Ford Fisher will assume the duties of Interim Chancellor, effective September 1. Dr. Ford Fisher, currently President of HCC Online College, has an extensive background in higher education, including 38 years at HCC in various leadership roles. As Interim Chancellor, she will provide executive leadership as the HCC governing board conducts a permanent Chancellor search. We are confident that we are in good hands as HCC transitions into the next phase in the life of the college.
Fall 2023 Start Dates
At HCC we pride ourselves on being flexible to meet the needs of our students, this is why we offer many enrollment options. Our courses begin at various times throughout the semester and enrollment is always open! Here are important dates for the upcoming fall semester:
- Aug. 21: Classes begin for 4 Week, 8 Week and Regular 16 Week courses.
- Sept. 18: Classes begin for 2nd Start and 2nd 4 Week courses.
- Oct. 16: Classes begin for 2nd 8 Week courses.
Senior Citizen Community Learning Programs
Seniors interested in returning to school receive special discounts on tuition and fees. These discounts apply to academic and workforce courses. I encourage you to take advantage of this special offer:
- Age 55-65: 50% discount on tuition and fees
- Age 65 and older: Free tuition and fees for up to 6 credits per semester
HCC Honors College
The Honors College is the perfect environment for talented students looking for an academic challenge and a rewarding experience. The Honors College offers a challenging array of courses and seminars. Honors College students have exclusive transfer opportunities to more than 30 colleges and universities in Texas and across the country. There is also the opportunity to travel outside the United States. I encourage you to apply. The Honors College is offered at these locations:
