Fashion Fusion X, the 10th edition of the annual fashion competition administered by the award-winning Fashion Design program at Houston City College (HCC) takes place at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) on Jan. 30, 2026.

This year, 28 aspiring designers will showcase garments addressing the exhibition, “Frida: The Making of an Icon.” The designers are taking part in the award-winning Fashion Design program at Houston City College (HCC).

Presented by the MFAH and HCC Central College, Fashion Fusion culminates in a professional fashion show and awards presentation in the Museum’s Cullinan Hall. HCC’s emerging designers will be featured in four categories: reimagine, regenerate, reengineer and reveal. The categories encourage the designers to reinvent menswear, use unconventional materials, repurpose textiles and showcase a live transformation on the runway.

A  distinguished panel of judges includes Sarah-Jayne Smith, founder and president of Magpies & Peacock; Ahshia Berry, Magpies & Peacock vice president; Kathy Leigh, Neiman Marcus vice president and general manager and Mari Carmen Ramírez, Wortham curator of Latin American Art at the MFAH.

First and second place designers in each category will be named as well as an audience choice winner following the runway show. Winning garments will be displayed at The Galleria Mall and the MFAH.
