Engineering at Felix Fraga Campus
You can begin an engineering career right at the Felix Fraga Campus of Houston Community College! Our partnership with the University of Houston provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity through the UH/HCC Engineering Academy. Students are co-enrolled at both institutions from the moment they are accepted into the Academy. Core curriculum courses are completed through HCC while engineering courses are taken from the UH Cullen
College of Engineering faculty either at the University of Houston at Katy or HCC Fraga Eastside. UH/HCC Engineering Academy students are official UH Engineering Cougars from their very first day!
After completing all Academy requirements, students then transition to the UH Main campus to complete their bachelor’s degrees in civil, electrical, computer, industrial or mechanical engineering. Academy requirements can be completed in one or two years. For more information, visit: https://www.hccs.edu/programs/areas-of-study/science-technology-engineering--math/engineering/.
Welding Program at the Eastside Campus
The Welding Program at HCC offers an outstanding opportunity for anyone looking to change career paths or enter the workforce with a skillset in high demand with good pay. Welding is used in shipbuilding, automobile manufacturing and repair, aerospace applications, and thousands of other manufacturing activities. Welding is also used in the construction of buildings, bridges, and other structures. Classes are offered in both English and Spanish, and are taught during the day, evenings and on the weekends. For more information please visit: https://www.hccs.edu/centers/material-science--smart-manufacturing/.
I, along with my colleagues on the Board of Trustees, hope that you will take the next steps to connect with HCC. You can enroll at any time. Please visit our website at hccs.edu or call 713.718.2000 to get started.
We are dedicated to the success of all students at HCC, and our faculty and staff are here to help you along the way. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
Los Esperamos!
Respectfully,
Eva L. Loredo
