Jobs or Leadership Positions on Campus or In Community
I have had the honor of serving in the children’s church at my local church New Hope Ministries. This experience has been one of the most rewarding leadership experiences of my life. I’ve had the joy of guiding, encouraging, and inspiring young hearts while helping them grow in faith and confidence.
This role has not only strengthened my leadership skills but has also deepened my passion for serving others in my community.
Talents or Hobbies, or Something People Don’t Know About You
I love doing word searches and puzzles in my free time. They challenge my mind, help me relax, and give me a sense of accomplishment when I find that last tricky word or piece. It’s a simple hobby, but I love it because it keeps my mind sharp and my focus strong.
Why did you enroll at HCC Coleman College?
I knew that this college would provide the level of flexibility that I was looking for to complete my program of study. I admire that the college offers such flexibility for students from all different backgrounds of life. I knew that I would be supported and encouraged by fellow students and staff to complete and excel in my program.
Why did you choose your program of study?
I have a strong passion for healthcare and helping others. This field allows me to combine my interest in medicine with my desire to make a positive impact on patients’ lives. I felt that becoming a pharmacy technician would give me the skills to support pharmacists, ensure safe medication use, and contribute to quality patient care while also providing empathy and compassion.
What do you like best about your college experience?
I loved the supportive and encouraging environment created by my classmates and teachers. Learning alongside peers who share the same goals has made the experience both motivating and enjoyable. The guidance and dedication of my instructors gave me the motivation to push through and finish strong.
What do you like best about your program of study?
The program gave me the opportunity to learn skills that directly help others and grow alongside a supportive group of classmates and instructors. Each lesson has not only expanded my knowledge but also strengthened my confidence in my future career. The encouragement and teamwork throughout the program have made this journey truly meaningful to me.
The program gave me the confidence I needed to go out and try my best to make a difference as a pharmacy technician in my community.
When you are tired, what motivates you to push forward?
My son is my greatest source of motivation, especially on the days when I feel tired or overwhelmed. Knowing that he is watching me inspires me to push forward and set an example of hard work and perseverance. Everything I do is fueled by the desire to build a better future for him and for my family.
What advice can you offer to help other students succeed?
My advice to is to stay organized, study hard, and remember—caffeine, study partners, and Quizlet are your best friends during exam week. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, because even the most seasoned pharmacists had to learn the basics once.
Most importantly, remember to enjoy the journey and don’t take things too hard. You’ll be surprised how much you can remember and retain while memorizing two hundred drug names!
Any final thoughts?
Completing the Pharmacy Technician program has been a challenging yet deeply rewarding journey. I am proud of the knowledge, skills, and confidence I’ve gained, and I’m grateful for the support of my instructors, classmates, and family along the way.
This achievement marks the start of an exciting new chapter in my career, and I look forward to making a positive impact in the field of pharmacy.
